Description
The 2022 SF90 Stradale from Ferrari, a renowned name in Italian sports cars, may not be the initial association when contemplating plug-in hybrid powertrains. However, this exceptional model introduces an electrified setup boasting an impressive 986 horsepower. Under the hood of the SF90 lies a commanding 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, independently generating a formidable 769 horsepower. Complementing this powerhouse are three electric motors contributing an additional 217 horsepower. The harmonious collaboration of the gasoline engine and electric motors results in a combined output of 986 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Notably, power is efficiently distributed to all four wheels, marking a significant stride for Ferrari as it becomes their inaugural mid-engine model equipped with all-wheel drive. The orchestration of this power is overseen by an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Unsurprisingly, the amalgamation of such potent forces beneath the hood translates into exhilarating acceleration. According to Ferrari’s official estimates, the SF90 Stradale is anticipated to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds.
